MAGMA — Hospitality IT & AI, run from a bar

Software built on the line,
not pitched at it.

We are operators first, technologists second — the inverse of every other vendor in this space. We help independent bars, restaurants, and boutique hotels run better shifts through honest IT and AI.

The pitch, in one paragraph.

01 — Why MAGMA

A note from the pass

Every other vendor in hospitality is a coder who read a book about restaurants. We are the inverse. Ten years of front office, four years behind a bar, and a full-stack developer who builds what the floor actually needs. We have worked the same Friday- night pass you have. We know which screen the runner cannot see, which report your accountant secretly rebuilds in Excel, which integration breaks at 23:47. Hire operators who code, not coders who read about hospitality.

What does MAGMA do?

MAGMA is a hospitality IT and AI consultancy based in El Born, Barcelona, founded in 2025 by two working bar operators rather than software vendors who read about the industry. We help independent bars, restaurants, and boutique hotels run better shifts through two kinds of work: ready-made software we have built and tested on our own venue, and scoped consulting engagements. Sunny-side, our breakfast-room app, is available now; Service Notes, for pre-shift briefings, launches in Q3 2026; Mise, for bar inventory, launches in Q4 2026. Consulting runs from two-to-seven-day process audits to six-week-plus custom builds, always fixed fee and fixed scope. Every product and workflow is tested on live service at our own cocktail bar before it reaches a client. We are not affiliated with Magma Hospitality Consulting or any other Barcelona firm using the Magma name.

The bar in El Born is the lab.

Tested on real shifts, real staff, real P&L.

We co-own a cocktail bar at Plaça de Santa Caterina. Every workflow, integration, and product we sell has been run there first — on live service, in front of paying guests, with a real team that will tell us, plainly, when something is bad.

Nothing leaves the lab until it has survived a full weekend on the floor. If a tool slows down a bartender by three seconds per drink, we feel it that night and we fix it that week. Most vendors will never know what their software does to a Friday at 23:00. We do.

How is MAGMA different from other hospitality consultancies?

Most hospitality technology vendors are software people who read a book about restaurants. MAGMA is the inverse: co-founder Irakli has ten-plus years in hospitality operations, including front-office and accounting work at Marriott and four years managing a bar; co-founder Denis is the full-stack developer who builds what the floor actually needs. Every workflow, integration, and product MAGMA sells is tested first at the cocktail bar the founders co-own at Plaça de Santa Caterina in El Born, roughly 40 seats, open Tuesday to Saturday from 18:00 to 02:30, on live service, in front of paying guests, with a team that says plainly when something is bad. Nothing ships to a client until it has survived a full weekend on the floor. One clarification worth stating directly: MAGMA (magma.barcelona) is not related to Magma Hospitality Consulting, a separate Barcelona firm founded in 2004.

Mise Bar inventory in pours and bottles, not spreadsheet decimals — closes itself Bars, restaurants Launching Q4 2026

What is Sunny-side?

Sunny-side is MAGMA's breakfast-room management app for boutique hotels, available now and running on a single tablet at the pass. It replaces the manager standing in the breakfast room during service: it tracks orders, allergens, room charges, and dietary tags in one place, so a smaller team can run the room without a supervisor present for the whole shift. It was built first for MAGMA's own operation and refined against real breakfast service before being packaged as a product for other hotels. Sunny-side is one of three ready-made tools MAGMA sells, alongside Service Notes, for pre-shift briefings, arriving Q3 2026, and Mise, for bar inventory, arriving Q4 2026. All three are sold as a single subscription with one onboarding and one bill, instead of the multi-vendor stack most independent hotels end up assembling.

How an engagement starts.

05 — Three steps
STEP 01

A discovery call.

Thirty minutes. You tell us where the friction is — staffing, tickets, integrations, breakfast room, the lot. We tell you honestly whether we are the right people. Sometimes we are not.

30 min · No deck · No charge
STEP 02

An audit, on-site or remote.

We spend time inside your operation. A weekend of service for a bar or restaurant; a full check-in cycle for a hotel. Remote works for chain-level tooling. We watch, we ask, we write.

2–7 days · Fixed fee
STEP 03

A written proposal.

One document. What is broken, what we would do about it, what it would cost, what it would not cost. You decide whether to move forward. No retainers, no monthly creep.

7 days from audit · Fixed scope

How does a MAGMA engagement work?

A MAGMA engagement runs in three fixed steps. First, a thirty-minute discovery call, free and without a slide deck, where the operator describes the friction, staffing, tickets, integrations, a breakfast room, and MAGMA says plainly whether it is the right fit; sometimes it is not. Second, an audit: two to seven days for a bar, restaurant, or single hotel, on-site or remote for chain-level tooling, watching service and reading the schedule, the prep list, the POS exports, and the team's group chat. Third, a written proposal delivered within seven days of the audit, one document stating what is broken, what MAGMA would do about it, what it would cost, and what it would not cost. The operator decides whether to proceed. Every engagement past that point is fixed fee and fixed scope, with no retainers and no scope creep.

Questions operators ask.

06 — FAQ

How long does it take to go from a first call to a proposal?

Usually two to three weeks. The discovery call is free and takes thirty minutes. If it's a fit, the on-site or remote audit that follows takes two to seven days, fixed fee, depending on whether we're looking at a bar, a restaurant, or a hotel. The written proposal — what's broken, what we'd do, what it would cost — arrives within seven days of the audit finishing. You decide whether to move forward from there; nothing is billed beyond the audit until you sign off on the proposal.

What does "operator-first" mean at MAGMA?

It means the people deciding what to build have worked the floor themselves. Co-founder Irakli spent ten-plus years in hospitality operations, including front-office and accounting work at Marriott and four years managing a bar; co-founder Denis is the developer who builds what operations actually needs, not what looks good in a demo. Most hospitality vendors are software people who read about the industry — MAGMA is built the other way round, and every product is tested on a real bar before it reaches a client.

Do you only work with venues in Barcelona?

MAGMA is based in El Born, Barcelona, and on-site process audits are most practical for bars, restaurants, and hotels in and around the city. System selection, custom builds, and audits for chain-level tooling work remotely for operators anywhere — remote engagements skip the on-site weekend but keep the same fixed-fee, fixed-scope structure.

What happens on the discovery call?

Thirty minutes, no slide deck, no charge. You describe where the friction is — staffing, tickets, integrations, a breakfast room, whatever it is — and MAGMA tells you honestly whether it's the right team for the job. Sometimes it isn't, and you'll hear that directly rather than being sold an engagement anyway.

Which MAGMA products are available right now?

Sunny-side, the breakfast-room management app, is available today. Service Notes, for pre-shift briefings, launches in Q3 2026. Mise, for bar inventory, launches in Q4 2026. All three are sold as one subscription with a single onboarding and a single bill.

Who founded MAGMA?

Irakli and Denis. Irakli has ten-plus years in hospitality operations — front-office and accounting work at Marriott, four years as a bar manager. Denis is a full-stack developer and AI practitioner who builds the systems Irakli specs. Both co-own the cocktail bar in El Born that doubles as MAGMA's testing ground.
